Hi James!

Well mixing and EQing go hand in hand. Mixing is basically just adjusting and blending the tracks until you get the best sound possible. It’s equalizing the different bands such as low bass, bass, high mid, mid, and highs to achieve a balanced overall sound. A limiter is a lot like a compressor, but is used to reduce peaks and spikes in the recording. A compressor is used to make the overall sound louder without increasing the gain and causing the track to clip and distort. Over compressing can cause distortion however. It’s always important to remember to avoid this.

Hope that helps. Let me know.

Blessings,
-Stu
