Home Beatmaking & Production The best place to sell beats? | I have the answer for you!

Hey friend and Welcome aboard!!

I wanted to touch on a topic today that gives many people headaches when starting out online. The question of The best place to sell beats.

Are you new to Beat making and Producing?

If so, then perfecting your craft, developing your style, and immersing yourself in the music is the way to go. Many people get into this simply because they want to make money. Making that paper is fine, but if you started making beats because you heard there was a lot of money in it, then you immediately are at a disadvantage.

Why do you ask?

It’s simple. Because you are doing it for the wrong reasons. Most likely your stuff isn’t going to sound that great when you are first starting out. It takes time and LOTS of crappy beats before you start making some that sound good.

Take it from me.

Some of my very first beats were highly experimental. Some were okay, but some were truly awful. I remember telling this cat I worked with at Walmart at the time that I was a “producer”. He became super excited at the prospect of rapping over some of my beats. He told me to bring him a CD with some of them on it.

I brought him the CD.

He never spoke to me again.

You may be laughing at this point. I know I am. Looking back, I can see how far I came. It took a lot of trial and error, but more importantly a passion for what I was doing.

I’m sure you have this same passion…

I really didn’t start trying to sell beats online until very recently. I was more interested in collaborating with folks and giving out free beats. I have found out over the years that many people you come in contact with simply aren’t very serious about making music. I have talked to many people about this. They will say one thing and then do another. They talk the talk but don’t walk the walk. They will take forever to get back to you. I am guilty of this in some capacity. They want a beat but don’t want to pay for it. The list goes on…

However…

There are people out there who are serious about their music and buying beats. There are also people who are serious about making beats and selling them. This leads me to the burning question…

Where do they sell them?

Airbit

Airbit is the best place online to sell your beats! If you don’t have your own hand-coded player (HTML) which most of us don’t, then this is your absolute best option. Luckily for you, this is the best and most powerful player in the world.

Here you go speaking my thoughts again Stu.:) I was laughing at the ‘cat’ story by the time I read “You must be laughing by now”. I enjoy the way you write! I have no experience in beats but you really pique my interest. Who knows, crazier things have happened. I became an accidental artist and ran with it after spending years specializing in Computer Technology

This was a great read. I think a lot of people are not serious about anything. I don’t mean to put people down, but people tend to talk a lot instead of taking action. I’m guilty of it too lol You are right though, there are a lot of people who are serious. Those are the ones that succeed because they take action. You gave some great info for people who are interested in selling beats. I myself don’t actually sell beats, but maybe down the road, I will be interested in buying some beats. Thanks for the info. 🙂

Thank you for your thoughtful comment Evelyn!! I have learned to just keep it movin’ in these instances. I used to get offended but I’m starting to let it roll and not dwell on it anymore. This could be applied to anything really.. Keep checking back here as I’m always updating 🙂

You really make it seem so easy with your presentation but I find this matter to be actually something that I
think I would never understand. It seems too complex
and very broad for me. I am looking forward for
your next post, I will try to get the hang of it!

It can be overwhelming at first. I know it was for me starting out. I still get confused from time to time and have to recruit the old trusty google. 🙂 Keep checking back! I will have plenty more interesting articles.
Thanks for the feedback
