Introduction

Arylic B50 Review

In the world of home audio, receivers have long been the go-to choice for powering and enhancing your home theater sound system.

While these devices offer excellent performance, they often come with a significant downside: their bulkiness.

How To Set Up A Home Theater System For Beginners

Receivers can take up a considerable amount of space and can be a pain to move around. They’re also really heavy.

In other words,

you know your receiver’s prooobably a bit too heavy when you can basically use it to break out of a psychiatric ward.

In addition to that, reaching the connections on the back can also be a gigantic hassle depending on your situation.

Enter the Class D Arylic B50 Bluetooth Stereo Amplifier with Audio Transmitter.

It presents a compelling alternative for those who desire a more compact and affordable solution without compromising on quality.

In this review, we’ll delve into the B50’s features, build, performance, and ability to serve as an ideal replacement for the traditional receiver in various audio setups.

Discover how this device, priced at roughly $139, offers an attractive blend of versatility, compactness, and affordability in the world of audio amplification.

In the Box

Arylic B50 Review

The B50 Bluetooth Stereo Amplifier with Audio Transmitter comes with a comprehensive set of accessories to enhance your audio experience.

Inside the box,

you’ll find the main unit, two antennas (one for Bluetooth BLE connection and the other for regular Bluetooth connection), a user’s manual for easy setup and operation, a usage card, a remote control for convenient adjustments if you’re a lazy couch potato like me, a powerful 24V/4.16A power adapter, and a power cable to ensure a hassle-free installation.

This user-friendly remote control adds to its convenience. It feels comfortable in your hand and allows for effortless adjustments, making it a handy companion while you’re stuffing your face with junk food on the couch and listening to hip-hop instrumentals.

Not that I’ve been doing that.

Build Quality

Arylic B50 Review

One of the standout features of the B50 is its robust build quality.

The unit feels solid and well-constructed, ensuring durability and longevity over the long term.

It’s a bit bigger and heavier than both the S10 and S50 Pro+, but it feels fantastic to the touch and really puts your mind at ease when thinking about its future staying power.

The ports on the rear panel are thoughtfully designed and securely fastened, offering a reliable audio experience without any loose connections or signal interruptions.

Likewise, the front of the unit boasts a clean and modern aesthetic, fitting nicely into any home theater setup with its sleek chassis and intuitive interface.

Performance

The B50 is designed to provide consistent and dependable performance.

Whether you’re transmitting music wirelessly to your Bluetooth headphones, earbuds, or speakers, or using it as a receiver with passive speakers, it aims to deliver high-quality audio without dropouts or distortions.

However, it’s important to note that the B50’s ability to establish a connection with wireless Bluetooth headphones can be a bit hit-and-miss.

Some users have reported difficulties in successfully pairing the unit with their headphones, which may require troubleshooting or might not be feasible with certain headphone models.

For instance, the manual says the following:

To enable Bluetooth transmitter mode, once you are in one of the source input modes (Line in / Phono in / Optical in / TV ARC / USB disk drive / USB DAC) press the Reset button on the back or press the BT TX button on the remote controller to enable.

Once enabled, you will notice the BT LED will start flashing, the device will then search for nearby Bluetooth receiver device (Bluetooth Speakers, Headphones) and connect to it.

I’ve tried everything: resetting the unit, unpairing, forgetting the device (with my iPhone), making sure it’s very close, making sure both units are in pairing mode simultaneously, etc. and the unit simply won’t connect to my headphones.

I’ve tried 3 different sets of Bluetooth headphones or earbuds with no luck. I will update this if anything changes.

Despite this potential challenge with headphone connectivity, the B50 generally performs admirably in other aspects, offering reliable sound quality for various audio setups.

It works flawlessly with my passive speakers via Bluetooth, with my console via optical, and with my turntable and the phono input.

Speaking of, it also has a built-in phono preamp of all things which is a nice added touch.

Its robust build quality and overall audio performance make it an appealing choice, particularly given its affordable price point of approximately $139.

If you prioritize versatility and a compact audio solution without breaking the bank, the B50 still represents a compelling option.

Front Panel Controls and Modes

Arylic B50 Review

The front panel of the B50 is well laid out and user-friendly.

It features a volume potentiometer, an on/off switch for convenience, an IR sensor for remote control operation, and different mode indicators that light up according to your selected input source.

This intuitive design makes it easy to switch between various audio sources seamlessly.

In addition, you can use the remote to choose or just press the volume potentiometer to cycle through.

Impressive Features

Arylic B50 Review

The B50 is packed with an array of features to cater to diverse audio needs.

It boasts an optical input for compatibility with devices like gaming consoles, ensuring you can enjoy immersive sound quality.

It also includes phono inputs for vinyl enthusiasts (you can also connect a CD Player), RCA line inputs for connecting additional audio sources, a Subwoofer out for enhanced bass, HDMI ARC for seamless TV integration, a USB-A slot for connecting portable music libraries, and a USB-C slot for connection to your PC.

Go Control App

Arylic B50 Review

While the Go Control app provided with the B50 may not be as comprehensive as the 4STREAM app used with other models, it remains functional and effective in addition to being a lot more stable.

I was up and running within seconds, and I cannot say the same for the 4STREAM app which has given me significant headaches in the past.

The app allows you to fine-tune your audio settings and manage your connected devices.

It not only provides you with powerful audio customization tools but also offers a host of additional features to enhance your overall user experience.

One of its standout capabilities is the fully customizable EQ (Equalizer) setting, allowing you to fine-tune the sound to your exact preferences.

Arylic B50 Review

With the EQ, you can adjust various frequency bands to craft a sound profile that suits your music genre, personal taste, and audio equipment, ensuring that every note and beat is delivered just the way you like it.

Beyond audio controls, the app also lets you personalize its aesthetics to match your preferences.

You can choose between dark mode and light mode, adapting the app’s interface to your preferred viewing conditions, whether it’s a subdued ambiance for nighttime or a bright and vibrant look during the day.

Or the opposite as seen above; a subdued nighttime ambiance in the middle of a bright sunny day. xD

Additionally, you can customize the app’s colors and themes to make it feel uniquely yours, adding a touch of personalization to your audio control experience.

In summary, the GO Control app is not just a tool for adjusting sound; it’s a versatile companion that empowers you to fully customize your listening experience.

From shaping the audio to your liking through the EQ setting to tailoring the app’s aesthetics to match your style, it’s a comprehensive audio management tool that elevates your control over the B50 Bluetooth Stereo Amplifier, making it even more appealing for audiophiles and tech enthusiasts alike.

Sound Performance

Arylic B50 Review

The B50 is designed to deliver clean and reliable sound output, which is a testament to its overall quality.

Its audio performance is characterized by its ability to faithfully reproduce your music, movies, and gaming audio, ensuring that you hear every detail with clarity.

And that it does very well.

However, it’s important to note that the B50 employs a Class D amplifier design.

While Class D amplifiers are known for their efficiency, they can sometimes exhibit characteristics such as distortion, noise, and a harsh treble end, particularly when pushed to their limits.

It’s worth mentioning that these potential issues are inherent to Class D amplification technology and may vary based on factors like source material and speaker compatibility.

It’s also worth noting that despite the technical possibilities of these issues, many users, including me, have not personally experienced them during regular use.

The B50 generally provides a clean and enjoyable audio experience. No complaints here.

Nonetheless, it’s a good practice to be aware of the characteristics of Class D amplifiers, as they can be more sensitive to certain factors compared to other amplifier classes.

In other words, if you’re not a snobby audiophile, you’ll probably really enjoy this unit.

Additional Benefits for Home Theater and Secondary Setup

Arylic B50 Review

For individuals who prefer a more streamlined and space-efficient audio solution, the B50 Bluetooth Stereo Amplifier shines as an excellent choice.

Its compact design and versatile connectivity options make it an ideal fit for a home theater setting where a bulky receiver may not be desired.

This compact form factor allows for a clean and organized audio setup without sacrificing performance.

Furthermore, the B50’s flexibility extends to its suitability for secondary audio setups in different rooms.

Whether you’re looking to enhance the sound quality of your bedroom, study, or any other space, the B50’s reliable performance and diverse input options make it a versatile addition to your audio arsenal.

You can effortlessly connect it to various devices and speakers, ensuring that your audio needs are met throughout your home.

Closing Thoughts

Arylic B50 Review

In the world of audio equipment, finding a versatile, robust, and high-performing device at an affordable price can be a challenging task.

However, the Arylic B50 stands out as a remarkable choice.

Priced at roughly $139, this audio powerhouse offers a combination of features, build quality, and sound performance that is truly impressive.

The B50’s versatility is one of its standout features.

Whether you’re seeking a space-efficient alternative for your home theater or an adaptable solution for a secondary audio setup, this amplifier fits the bill perfectly.

Its compact design makes it a great fit for those who prefer a sleeker and less bulky option, all without compromising on performance.

Moreover, the B50’s robust build ensures durability and longevity, ensuring that your investment will last for years to come.

It’s built to withstand the rigors of daily use while consistently delivering good overall sound quality.

Whether you’re enjoying music, movies, or gaming, the B50 provides a reliable and immersive audio experience.

In short, the B50 offers a slam-dunk value proposition.

Its versatility alone makes it an incredibly easy purchase, catering to a wide range of audio needs, from home theaters to secondary setups.

Add in its robust build quality and commendable sound performance, and you have a product that not only meets expectations but exceeds them.

A Sound Decision?

Yup! I didn’t recommend the S10 or S50 because, while being perfectly fine devices on their own, I didn’t personally feel that there was a need for them.

But at a price point of roughly $139, the sheer versatility of the B50 as a fantastic alternative to a bulky receiver represents an excellent investment and overall value for anyone looking to elevate their audio experience without breaking the bank.

Hi Stu,

Can you recommend some desk DAC/Amp under $500 that can be suitable for LCD-2Classics? Thanks!

Hey Harl,

Thank you for stopping by! How about the FiiO K7 and since you have some money leftover, this cable? That way you can listen balanced if you want. The K7 is a great DAC and will drive the Classics just fine.

Nearly perfect device. I like the sound, the smooth trebles. Ive used Cambridge Audio Minx Xi which was a D class amp and it had the treble issues mentioned in the article. Arylic B50 doesnt have it, I am pleased with the sound. Only the app is kind of annoying because it always asks to sign in and also cant correctly read files from USB. It would be also nice to have possibility of creating a playlist and a timeline of the track.

Hey man! Yeah out of all the Arylic units, this one made the most sense for me in that I could see myself owning one. The versatility is excellent especially for the price, and I’m a homer for all that so I think it’s a solid product. Yeah apps can be hit and miss. I wasn’t a huge fan of the 4STREAM one but the Go Control isn’t too bad. I haven’t had that issue with it asking me to sign in. Ah, haven’t tried a USB stick with it, actually.
