Bonjour friend and Welcome aboard!!

Before we get into the Bose AE2 vs AE2i comparison, snab a grack, sit back and relax because…

You’ve come to the right place!!

What I will bring you in this comparison

This will be a relatively simple article on the Similarities and Differences between these two buddies. Recommendation towards the end. 🙂

  1. Introduction
  2. Similarities & Differences
  3. Final Word

Now without further ado, let’s get rolling!

The Bose AE2 is quite a lovely headphone, and I was able to demo one on numerous occasions. I would classify the sound as very laid back and pleasant. This is a headphone that you’ll be kicking back with, possibly in the bathtub with some candles lit and a bottle of wine. It’s mellow yellow all the way, with some nice mid-range presence and clarity, a satisfying bass response, and a somewhat more subdued but still sparkling treble.

The cans themselves are extremely comfortable and well built, which we come to expect from Bose. This is the type of headphone that “disappears” after awhile on your head. The clamp pressure, headband, and ear-cups are all nearly perfect.

By now you may be wondering how the AE2i stacks up. Let’s find out!

Similarities & Differences

  • The headphones are identical as far as build, comfort, and sound.

  • The “i” in AE2i stands for iPhone, as the AE2i has a 3 button inline remote specifically made for Apple devices (iPad, iPod, iPhone). The remote allows you to Play, Pause, Mute, Scroll, and take calls. The regular AE2 does not have these features, and therefore also costs less.

Final Word

Yup, that’s it friend! A very simple comparison today.

If you don’t need the features of the AE2i, the AE2 is a wonderful headphone.

If you do need those features and more, the Bose Quiet Comfort 35 is an excellent upgrade. It’s Wireless, Bluetooth, and Noise Cancelling. How do noise cancelling headphones work? I also got a chance to demo one on many separate occasions, and I absolutely love them. They are the complete solution if you are in the market for something like this. Interested in learning more?

Well that’s about it for today my friend! I hope you’ve enjoyed this Bose AE2 vs AE2i comparison.
