Hi Charles,

Would be very interested in a desktop amplifier best-of from your side – and maybe also an amplifier best of?

The sheer amount of models and brands is so hard to screen.

Also, a passiv desktop speaker best-of were really nice and helpful, with all those affordable and higher quality class d amps being available today.

Hey! Thank you, it’s my pleasure. I am actually working on an Amp/DAC rankings list based on everything I have tried or owned. And you’re right, there are way too many to choose from nowadays. This is a combination of companies taking advantage of the boom in popularity of these things but I can assure you, having this many on the market is completely unnecessary from the point of view of someone who is a producer/engineer; someone who understands the principles of sound, NOT a a silly audiophile obsessed with the flavor of the week DAC.

Rant aside, glad you enjoyed the monitor/speaker rankings! What is your budget for a desktop amplifier?
